First Aid Training Manchester, Launches Additional Course Content for Three day First Aid at Work Course

Manchester (PRWEB UK) 19 June 2013

First aid training Manchester is looking to save businesses money by offering free AED defibrillator training for any organisation which books a 3 day First aid at Work Course. All First aid at work courses will include a certificate to state each delegate has completed the AED training. As defibrillators are becoming more widely available, having the skill to use one can help to save lives.

Paramedics and Ambulance technicians will use the defibrillator to try and restart the casualty’s heart in the case of a cardiac arrest (i.e. the casualty is unconscious, is not breathing and has no circulation). The machines which are available for the public to use have come down greatly in cost and have been simplified to an extent, that members of the public would be competent to use them after a short period of training. The importance of defibrillators was emphasized by the episode experienced by Fabrice Muamba during a Premiership football game at White Hart Lane. The quicker a casualty receives defibrillation the more likely the outcome will be positive. The longer it takes to defibrillate a cardiac arrest victim, the less likely the casualty will survive. Time is critical.

Currently there is no legal requirement to undergo training on how to use a defibrillator or on companies having defibrillators. There are currently campaigns about increasing there availability across the United Kingdom. One of the campaigns is regarding every school in the country having a defibrillator. The name of the campaign is the Oliver King Foundation. This is named after a 12 year old boy who passed away due to Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS).

Unfortunately not enough people know how to use defibrillators and First aid training Manchester by offering free training in defibrillator use hope to raise awareness and skills in this field.
