London, UK (PRWEB UK) 15 June 2011

Youth specialist STA Travel is offering free Australia working holiday visas, worth £189, with every flight booking to Queensland made before the end of the month.

Marketing director Emma Hudson said: “The Australia Working Holiday Visas are valid for a year and so if you’ve always wanted to head Down Under this is a great opportunity.

“We’re trying to make it as simple as possible to go and work and travel in Australia and so

alongside the free working holiday visas we’re also offering exclusive Aussie work and play starter packs which includes bank account set-up in Australia, tax packs, and log-in details to a members-only job website.”

There’s a perception that Australia is an expensive destination for young people, however while earning Aussie dollars currency fluctuations will have a lesser effect

Hudson added: “Plus don’t forget that you can claim tax back on work you do in Australia on return to the UK – if you work for a year in Australia the average tax refund back int he UK is around £1500 which more than offsets the cost of your flight at the very least!”

STA Travel has up to 50 per cent off selected accommodation, hop-on-hop-off bus passes, tours and activities, on bookings made before June 30 2011. Save £130 on the “Cobber hop-on hop-off bus pass” from Cairns to Sydney, prices from £193. The 14-day “Island Suntanner Adventure Tour” which starts in Cairns and ends in Sydney is half price – prices from £658 for bookings made by June 30.

Flights start from £599 for a return flight from London to Brisbane, valid for travel in June 2011, must be booked by June 30.

Jane Nicholson, Tourism Queensland’s international director for UK, Ireland & Nordic Regions, said: “A backpacking trip around Australia is often one of the first big travel experiences young Brits have before they start climbing the career ladder.

“The working holiday visa provides a fantastic opportunity for people to earn some money to help fund some exciting travels in Queensland. Young people can try an assortment of jobs from fruit picking to working on a dive boat, helping on an outback station or working at a luxury island resort – all great experiences in themselves and it certainly beats stacking shelves or doing the filing!”
