Krowmark Ltd to Donate Thousands of T-shirts to UK charities

(PRWEB UK) 23 April 2013

As part of a move to help increase awareness of textile recycling, West Sussex-based workwear business Krowmark Ltd has promised to donate 1000’s of T-shirts to UK charities. The campaign supports ‘The Rag Bag’, a UK-wide scheme which encourages schools, clubs and other organisations to submit their unwanted textiles in return for money.

In the past year, Krowmark has provided nearly a metric tonne of unwanted workwear for recycling, accruing almost £500 in the process. Krowmark has pledged to use these funds to produce personalised clothing for UK based charities – giving 100 Free T-shirts to each one. To help decide which charities will win the workwear, Krowmark is asking the British public to nominate charities of their choice who will have a genuine need for them.

Krowmark’s Director of Operations Bridget Samuels explains why the company is supporting the Rag Bag Scheme:

“It is regrettable but inevitable that we have some wastage in our production, which we would discard. Rag Bag however, enables us to recycle these goods and convert what would have been landfill into cash. Instead of just putting this cash straight to our bottom line we felt we could help UK based charities by supplying them with 100 free printed T-Shirts saving them around £300 per charity. In doing this we help people abroad with the donation of the scrap clothing and in the UK with supply £300 worth of free T-shirts

We are already working with some charities such as “Wellchild” and “Send A cow” but would like the UK to nominate charities who could genuinely use £300 worth of free T-shirts.
