A study carried out with customers of the parking comparison site over the months between June and August shows that more and more people are taking advantage of new flights to the Italian municipality.

FlyBe and Monarch already flew to Milan, but Monarch added it to their route this summer and it seems to have really taken off.

Customers were generally split into three groups, those going to Milan for the fashion, those visiting to check out the two footballing giants based there, and those going for the culture.

Monarch’s flights to Milan run four times a week, FlyBe flights run daily throughout the summer months, and Ryanair’s Milan route takes off six days a week meaning there is always a flight available to take travellers to the beautiful Italian destination.

Milan is renowned for being the capital of Italian fashion, and home to both AC Milan and Inter Milan, which are two of the most successful club football teams in recent history. It is also known as Italy’s industrial, financial and commercial hub, with the Italian Stock Exchange, major international companies, and beautiful theatres and museums there are so many things to see and do in Milan that it is no surprise that it is a popular destination for Brits looking for the perfect city break.

A lot of the passengers surveyed by Manchester Airport Parking Centre said that they were headed to the Milano d’Estate at the Castello Sforzesco, which are a host of open-air concerts pt on to entertain the masses during the summer months.

With average daily temperatures in the low to mid 20’s in summer months, Milan is a warm destination that is not too stifling for travellers that are perhaps more used to Manchester’s average highs of 18 to 20 degrees.
